This Parox*- Tombola 2013 differs mainly in the forms of two observations versions. The be in time at right the place version, or the home volcano observation at your monitior. And this works like this.

Variation 1. One reason to pass the Parox was the weather broadcast which predicted a dense cloud layer around the summit of Mt. Etna. Who is booking a flight in this situation. Variation 1 which prefered Richard and me, causes an increasing frustration combinated with a boring taste during the observations.

Variation 2. The reason to catch one Parox is to ignore the bad weather while staying since the 22nd of April in the summit region, whereby only Martin had the great luck. Therefore the variation 2a was developed by Marc, which is not described nearer in this site.

*(Paroxysm, - medically -> attack etc; designation of the very singular eruption form at the Volcano Etna with intervals of hours (anno 2000) up to several weeks (anno 2011/12))





Before the bad weather front beginning at the 26th of April real good observation conditions shows small ash puffs at the bocca of the South East Cone II. Due to the weak seismic the paroxism was in a distant prospect.



Sometimes the SEC II threw out some glowing lapilli boulder wich gave the photos a volcanic touch.



After the summit was covered from friday to saturday afternoon in dense clouds like predicted by il Meteo, the tremor arised clandestine and slowly.



Shortly after the bad weather front was moving away, the volcanic ongoing was escalating and the seismic was now increasing faster. Now, in the upper Laghetto-region a good view made it possible to observe more details of the gas and lapilli fontains.



Attention!!! A seldom detailed photo of a dissolving pyroclastic flow from the bocca. The flow reached may the length of 1,5 km in direction Val del Bove.



Finest scoria is grubing through some smaller side vents. General ash turmoil close and underneath the erupting place.





The volcanic fire works increased and the fontains arised apprx. 300-500m





Bigger lava bubbles which exploded partly over the whole bocca could be observed.
